Ho Chi Minh - Day One

One of the main tourist streets in Ho Chi Minh... lots of bargins. Bought 2 North Face jackets for $40 that we saw in the shops back home for about $350 each...

 The intersection that bec loves....

This was the view from the plane when we left KL....

Found a bar fairly early on and tried some local beers

Both tasted a little like heineken

i think she enjoys it....

So many mopeds...

After nearly 12 hours of flights and waiting at airports we arrived in Vietnam.. Ho Chi Minh city. Despite all the advice we still managed to get one of the "dodgy" taxis from the airport... but it was ok. It cost about 150,000VND or $13 AUD to get from the airport.

Weather has been pretty good. Was 28 degrees when we got off the plane and is low 30's today.

We decided to go for a bit of a walk down the tourist district and had to avoid some of the hustlers.... which can be quite difficult. One of them thought we said yes to a bike tour when we actually said no... def a bit of a language barrier there!

We have just booked 2 tours for the next 2 days... firstly to some temples and the Cu Chi tunnels and then a Mekong Delta cruise... all for about $40 for both of us for 2 days inc meals. We has a lot of people recommend the Sinh Cafes (now called the Sinh Tourist apparently) and this has definitely been good so far.
